Imagine the feeling of total relaxation from reduced stress and anxiety, and being completely rested because you are sleeping more deeply. Visualize yourself experiencing less pain, having improved energy, reduced joint stiffness, better digestion and improved circulation. This dream can become a reality as a result of the synergistic benefits of pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) combined with far infrared (FIR) therapy. Benefits of PEMF PEMF is anti-aging for the entire body. It protects us from harmful EMFs and reduces stress, anxiety, and depression, reduces pain, speeds recovery time following injuries and surgery, in addition to improving sleep. PEMF speeds up the healing process by increasing the absorption of oxygen and nutrients in our cells, optimizing elimination of toxins and carbon dioxide out of our cells, balancing the immune system, reducing pain, improving energy, and increasing metabolism. Sports Injury Recovery Studies have proven that PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field) therapy regenerates nerves and tissues, strengthens bones, relieves pain, reduces inflammation, boosts ATP production, improves circulation and oxygenation, accelerates detoxification and promotes deeper, more restorative sleep. All of these benefits help speed up recovery time from injuries. Many professional athletes use PEMF on a regular basis and find they recover more quickly from injuries. Faster recovery and pain reduction can lead to the ultimate goal of peak performance. Professional athletes are under incredible pressure to perform and compete even while injured. PEMF devices have been proven to reduce recovery time from intense workouts and from injuries. Benefits of FIR Far infrared therapy enhances blood circulation, improves blood flow in organs, supports cardiovascular health, stimulates micro-circulation by dilating blood vessels and capillaries, reduces chronic pain, joint stiffness, inflammation and insomnia, enhances the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to speed up cellular repair, balances digestive problems, relieves stress, and speeds up regeneration.
Cardiovascular Health Improved Regular use of PEMF and far infrared therapy supports cardiovascular health by improving circulation through increased blood flow and reduced inflammation, preventing red blood cells from clumping and providing energy to the cells. Microcirculation is improved as a result of the dilation of capillaries. PEMF and far infrared therapy improve oxygen flow into the cells by the stimulation of blood vessels. Toxins and waste are removed from the cells more efficiently as a result of the lymphatic vessels being stimulated. In addition, the immune system is improved as a consequence of the stimulation of blood flow and improved lymphatic drainage. All 37 trillion cells in the human body are able to absorb more oxygen and nutrients by the increase of ATP (adenosine triphosphate production) through the vascular and lymphatic systems with daily use of PEMF combined with FIR. The iMRS Prime by Swiss Bionic Solutions, combines the synergistic benefits of PEMF and FIR simultaneously for your personal well being and one of a kind experience. According to the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, eleven million Canadians over the age of 12 deal with musculoskeletal problems every year. People are also being referred to physiotherapists for a host of other reasons, which shows that physiotherapists can treat the whole body and the whole person. Here are just a few of the objectives that these health professionals can help us achieve: relieve pain; improve movement or agility; recover after a stroke, accident, injury, or surgery; manage a chronic illness like arthritis, diabetes, or heart disease. In addition to exercise prescription and manipulative therapy, physiotherapists may use devices to assist in treatment, such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, laser, etc. PEMF (pulsed electromagnetic field) is one tool that is quickly gaining popularity worldwide as an adjunct to traditional physical therapy. The devices we recommend, the Omnium 1 and the iMRS, which emit low frequency pulsed electromagnetic fields (between 0.5 and 30Hz), in the range of the Earth’s own magnetic field and in the window that is beneficial to all living organisms. This electromagnetism is essential to our health, as was discovered when the first astronauts came back from space suffering from serious conditions after being away from the Earth’s magnetic field for less than two hours. Physiotherapists are adopting this technology because, just like physiotherapy itself, it is extremely effective. It is drug-free and non-invasive. Hundreds of articles of third-party peer-reviewed research indicate that PEMF shows measurable results with many conditions. The device we recommend has been approved by Health Canada for reducing pain and increasing blood flow, which is the keystone of any type of recovery. PEMF reaches every cell in the body - every type of cell - and, by promoting ion transfer, recharges their electromagnetic field. This improves cell membrane permeability, metabolism, oxygen absorption, the absorption of nutrients as well as waste release. Cells, including neurons, can regenerate faster, which relieves symptoms such as pain and stiffness even in chronic conditions. PEMF acts as a vasodilator, thus helping to prevent strokes and promoting a healthy heart. Some of the other benefits of PEMF include having a positive effect on range of motion, inflammation, bone regeneration, muscle performance, the impact of stress, and sleep. Combining physiotherapy with PEMF will help accelerate treatment results and decrease recovery time, which can be of great importance in competitive sports, for example. You can do your own research by going to PubMed and typing PEMF and any condition you are curious about. We invite you to get in touch with your local PEMF Global rental expert to get your questions answered and experience for yourself the many benefits of an Omnium1 or iMRS Prime therapy system. Your 70 trillion cells, and those of your patients, will thank you! PEMF stands for Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Think of your cells as the batteries that power and move your body. As we age, our cells naturally deteriorate or cease to function optimally. Environmental factors, such as pollution, artificial radiation (emitted by cell phones, WiFi, 5G, Smart Meters etc.), as well as physical and emotional stress cause our cells cumulative damage over time. This damage can manifest in the body in many harmful ways such as inflammation, fatigue, pain, chronic conditions and disease. PEMF recharges your cells by restoring their natural voltage levels, encouraging them to function optimally. When your cells are healthy you become stronger, more energized, and able to live your best life. The therapy is cumulative - meaning the more you use it, the better you feel! Think of PEMF therapy as the body’s cellular “exercise”. Exercising the cells in this way allows for an exchange of fluids. Toxins are expelled, and fresh minerals, nutrients, and water enter the cell, stimulating optimal function. PEMF therapy is commonly used in the orthopedics field for the treatment of non-union fractures and failed fusions. In the case of bone healing, PEMF uses electrical energy to direct a series of magnetic pulses through injured tissue where each magnetic pulse induces a tiny electrical signal that stimulates cellular repair by enhancing up-take of oxygen, transport of ions across cell membranes and improved circulation. Many studies have also demonstrated the efficacy of PEMF for healing soft-tissue wounds, and suppressing inflammatory responses to alleviate pain as well as creating enhanced sleep, and stress reduction. The value of PEMF has been shown to cover a wide range of conditions with well-documented trials carried out by hospitals, researchers, and the medical community at large. PEMF is non-invasive and has no side effects, unlike many other medications and pain relief treatments. Scientifically proven on both humans and animals alike PEMF is gaining popularity and attention for good reason! National Aeronautics and Space Administration (aka NASA) and PEMF While astronauts have been sent to space for decades, you likely didn’t know that astronauts would often feel sick upon their return to earth. NASA researched this issue for years, trying to understand the cause. It wasn’t until astronauts kept returning from space voyages sick and exhausted that NASA began to research the earth’s magnetic fields and their effects. Many years of research led to the discovery that the lack of exposure to the earth’s magnetic field was making these astronauts sick and tired (literally). In response, NASA added pulsating electromagnetic fields to the space capsules-solving the issue! This research outlined what some of the major challenges were that PEMF could alleviate: 1. Sleep Issues 2. Listless/fatigue/lack of energy 3. Flu-like symptoms 4. Joint and muscle pain 5. Inflammation 6. Circulation issues As a result, research has continued for those who suffer from chronic illnesses like Lyme Disease, Diabetes, and much more. For more information and scientific studies on PEMF therapy please visit: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/ and type in PEMF to see over 700 article, papers and studies about PEMF therapy and its benefits for humans and animals. They anchor your muscles, store essential nutrients and provide structure, while providing an essential role in the movement of your body. Your bones offer protection for your organs in the way your rib cage surrounds your heart and lungs, as well as how your skull surrounds your brain. Skeletal bone is living tissue that changes continually with new bone cells growing back to replace the bone cells that dissolve. In our youth, our bodies make new bone cells faster than old cells break down, which is referred to as bone remodeling. Peak bone mass is usually reached around the age of 30. As we age, bone remodeling slows down and we lose slightly more bone mass than we gain. Bone Density A variety of factors play a role in healthy bones. In bone tissue, the amount of bone mineral determines your bone density, measured according to optical density per square centimetre of bone surface using an X-ray. A test for bone density will determine if a person has osteoporosis and the likelihood of potential bone fractures. The bones in the hip, spine and forearm are most commonly used for testing bone density. The health and strength of bones are dependent on a diet sufficient in vitamins and minerals, such as Vitamin D, calcium, magnesium, boron, zinc, copper, manganese and Vitamin K, which may require supplementation. Regular weight-bearing and resistance exercise are excellent for strengthening your bones. Some examples of weight-bearing exercise include walking, dancing, hiking, jogging, and stair climbing. Resistance exercises may incorporate lifting weights within a workout while doing squats, lunges, deadlifts, and bench presses. Resistance exercises without weights can include burpees, jumping jacks, push ups, pull ups and step-ups. Causes of Osteoporosis When bone loss outpaces the growth of new bone, osteoporosis occurs. Symptoms of osteoporosis may include back pain caused by fractured or collapsed vertebra, stooped posture, loss of height, and bone fractures occurring more easily than expected. As we age, the greater our risk of osteoporosis. Family history can determine your risk level, particularly if your parent or sibling have been diagnosed with osteoporosis. Other potential causes include hormone levels, thyroid problems, gastrointestinal surgery, long-term use of certain medications such as corticosteroids. Medical conditions such as cancer, Celiac disease, inflammatory bowel disease, kidney or liver disease, and rheumatoid arthritis can contribute toward the increased risk of osteoporosis. For people whose lifestyle choices include excessive alcohol consumption, tobacco use and lack of exercise, the risk of osteoporosis is higher. PEMF for Osteoporosis Pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) therapy is a very effective non-drug treatment for stimulating bone healing and bone formation. Many studies have shown that PEMFs quickly relieves pain of osteoporosis, enhances bone formation and increases bone mineral density with no side effects. Nonunion Bone Fractures A broken bone that fails to heal is called a nonunion. PEMF has been proven to be effective in speeding up the healing of nonunion bone fractures. A study in the Netherlands revealed that out of a total of 93 patients, 64 patients were treated for long bone fractures. The other group was treated for non long bone fractures. The success rate for nonunion with PEMF was 76% for the long bone fractures and 79% for the non long bone fractures. Pulsed electromagnetic field therapy was shown to be an effective treatment of nonunion. Experience the Benefits of PEMF If you have suffered an injury involving a bone fracture, have been diagnosed with osteoporosis, or you are interested in optimizing your bone health, consider trying PEMF therapy. Daily use of PEMF strengthens bones, helps reduce pain, increases energy, and speeds up the healing process by increasing the absorption of oxygen and nutrients in our cells while optimizing the elimination of toxins and carbon dioxide out of our cells. PEMF is anti-aging on the cellular level for the entire body. By renting an Omnium1 or iMRS Prime from PEMF Global Rentals, you can experience the many benefits of PEMF therapy in the convenience of your own home.prior to purchasing a system of your own. What PEMF therapy and acupuncture have in common is you! The patient. The human. The cells. Energy, Qi or Chi or Vital Life Force, Innate Intelligence, are all terms that are used to describe virtuous cellular functioning. This Chi, or energy, was observed thousands of years ago and noted historically, particularly in the healing traditions in ancient China starting around 2500 years ago. Practitioners observed that there was a difference between the physical organ itself and its functioning. An example being that although there is a physical stomach intact, it's the Qi of the organ or cells that actually determine its functional capacity. Modern day science has discovered cellular ion exchange and ATP production within the cell. The healthier the cell, the more ready it is to exchange ions and produce more ATP. Happy cells mean a happy human! Acupuncture, like PEMF therapy, helps the central nervous system (your brain and spinal cord) rewire and restore a more virtuous expression in the peripheral nervous system. Both Acupuncture and PEMF are a whole body treatment, positively affecting the way the body moves as it is all intricately connected through tissue and fascia. These therapeutic sessions help to rewire and optimize the way your brain and body communicates and self-regulates. Acupuncture helps optimize cellular function by upregulating or “hacking” the body to a more favourable hormone and genetic expression more specifically, while PEMF treats and optimizes cellular ion exchange throughout the body, so a more general treatment form. Both modalities treat the cause of the problem, while also easing symptoms. Both PEMF and acupuncture help increase peripheral circulation, increasing blood flow in the small capillaries that supply blood and the nutrients and oxygen that it carries to each and every part of your body. When the two modalities are combined, the overall effects of the acupuncture treatment are reinforced and anecdotally, the patients experience a more therapeutic sensation afterwards. PEMF helps to “keep” the positive results of the acupuncture treatment for a longer time. If you are a patient of acupuncture or are an acupuncturist interested in combining the modalities in your clinic, trust your intuition and try it to see the difference it makes in the individual healing timeline. Chronic or long standing conditions always take longer to resolve than acute or milder conditions, so it's important to have a positive regard to a realistic healing schedule. Although there is no “miracle” cure, working consistently to support cells with exercise and diet and mindful movements helps to reinforce the healing experienced in treatment. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the diagnosis and treatment often relies on categorizing the symptoms that the patients are experiencing into a pattern, and treating the energetic and physical mechanisms of the body to help relieve the cause of symptoms. As with each therapeutic modality, the results and relief depend on the individual's constitution and pathogenic factors. One of the benefits of acupuncture and of PEMF treatments is a more intimate and compassionate relationship with the body. In chronic pain pathologies, the brain is sensing the body is in danger due to a current or past injury, creating a pain response, firing the neurons that cause pain symptoms. Both modalities help the patient create a felt sense of relief and safely within the body, dialling down the undesired nerve activation. The result is less pain! With enough reminders, the body has the ability to relearn more favourable and calm activation states. If you're an acupuncturist, combining PEMF with needle treatments helps speed up the changes felt in the channel. Both excess and deficient conditions are benefited with the gentle electromagnetic stimulation. Working synergistically, the patient will feel the stimulation from the needles and their energetic action will be further enforced with the PEMF influenced cellular response. My name is Darlene and I am, unfortunately, a veteran of car accidents. I was rear-ended in 1996, 1999, 2001, and 2019. The last rear-ender occurred on March 14, 2021, when I my spouse and I were stopped at a red light. The force of the impact was such that my car was lifted off the ground, pushed forward several feet and that the rear wheel on the passenger side broke off from its axle. I came home from being assessed at the hospital with no broken bones, but in shock and in a lot of pain from soft tissue damage throughout my body. The first thing I did was lay on the Swiss Bionics mat that we had purchased a few months earlier. This mat and the accessories that come with it emit a gentle but powerful pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) that reaches every tissue in the body to promote healing on all levels by increasing blood flow, oxygenation and improving cell function. PEMF is backed by thousands of peer-reviewed medical research papers throughout the world. It is gaining popularity as an enhancement to many other healing therapies like massage, acupuncture, physiotherapy, or chiropractic. As I lay on the mat several times a day, I became aware that I was coping with stress a lot better than after my previous accidents – the stress of dealing with the loss of the car, with the insurance, the lawyer, physiotherapy, a spouse with a concussion, etc. I was not getting overwhelmed as easily. The anxiety I felt while driving went from severe and constant to slight and seldom over the next few months. At first, I was in a lot of pain from having reinjured my lower back and from new injuries in my right ankle and wrist from bracing for the impact I had seen coming. Because of PEMF, my body’s healing was being accelerated without side effects and pain levels were coming down largely without medication. My previous accident had been 2 years ago and, after 19 months, I only had 60 % improvement. Now 7 months after the latest accident, I already have 60 % improvement despite more serious injuries. The system we purchased from Swiss Bionics is called Omnium 1 and it includes The Brain, goggles that provide what we call brainwave entrainment. That is the brain’s electrical response to pulses of sound and light. Depending on my needs and the time of day, I would set those pulses for relaxation, activation or sleep. After the accident I was filled with anger and overwhelmed with the chaos it caused in my life. The Brain calmed my mind and was instrumental in helping me regain balance. Because I was able to use the mat and The Brain right away, my recovery was accelerated on all levels. After 2 to 3 months, I no longer had issues with memory, focus and concentration. The aftereffects of whiplash were gone and I enjoyed more flexibility in my body. Finally, my sleep - the most potent healer of all – deepened as anxiety and pain lessened and I was able to stay asleep for longer periods and go back to sleep more and more easily. If you or a loved one have experienced a motor vehicle accident, I encourage you to contact a PEMF Global Rental expert in your area so you can rent a PEMF system and experience for yourself what a powerful ally it can be for your mind and body. Leigh syndrome is a rare inherited neurometabolic disorder that affects our nervous system. It can be caused by patches of damaged tissue; known as lesions that develop in the brain. These lesions can be accompanied by loss of myelin coating around the nerves reducing the ability of the nerves to activate muscles that are used for movement or relay the sensory information from the rest of the body and back to the brain. Leigh syndrome can be caused by mutations in 1 of more than 75 different genes. In humans most genes are found in the DNA in the cells nucleus. Some of these genes found in the DNA are in a specialized structure of cell called Mitochondria. Mitochondria uses oxygen to convert the energy from the food we eat into a form that cells can use through a process called oxidative phosphorylation. During this oxidative phosphorylation the protein complexes drive production of ATP, which are the cells main energy source. Many gene mutations that occur in those with Leigh’s syndrome disrupt or eliminate activity of one or more of these complexes or disrupt their assembly. Another common M+ DNA mutation in Leigh’s syndrome affects the MT- ATP 6 gene, which provides instructions for making a piece of complex V known as ATP synthesis protein complex. These mutations can block generation of ATP by the mitochondria, which can decrease the activity of the other oxidative phosphorylation protein complexes and lead to formation of mitochondrial protein, which can impair mitochondrial energy production. It is believed that the impaired oxidative phosphorylation can lead to cell death because of the decreased energy available in the cell. Leigh’s syndrome usually occurs early on often before the age of 2. Some things that one can encounter are: -The inability to grow and gain weight -Have severe muscle and movement problems -Inability to balance or coordinate movements -Weak muscle tone (hypotonia) -Involuntary contractions (dystonia) -Movement and balance problems -Loss of sensation and weakness in limbs -Decrease function of swallowing and breathing About a year and a half ago my friend shared the news that her son was diagnosed with this rare syndrome. I had never heard of it but a short time after learning what it was I came across PEMF. As a practitioner of many different modalities it got my attention immediately and I needed to learn more. PEMF can help support the body as we know that every cell produces an electromagnetic field created by ion transfer via cell membranes. Using PEMF technology you can “charge” these cells that aren’t working optimally. Using PEMFs low frequency triple sawtooth waveform it helps match the biological window in the human cells frequencies. Science has shown us that PEMF technology can optimize cell function improve melatonin; improve blood circulation and oxygenation saturation. My friend’s little boy started using the Omnium1 PEMF system once a week. He noticed after laying on the full body mat that he had more energy he was even able to stay at school full days, his body felt calmer, he slept better and just had an overall change to mood. After months of weekly use they purchased a PEMF system to allow daily use so he could continue to feel better and live the best life he possibly could. Arthritis 1 in 5 Canadians live every day with arthritis and there is no cure. Arthritis is a collection of conditions affecting joints and other tissues. It causes pain, restricts mobility and diminishes quality of life. Arthritis is a term used to describe a group of over 100 diseases characterized by inflammation in the joints or other areas of the body. Inflammation is a medical term that describes redness and swelling which causes pain and, when in the joints, can also cause stiffness. Left unchecked, inflammation can lead to significant and often irreparable damage to the affected areas, resulting in loss of function and disability. Arthritis is a chronic condition: it affects people on an ongoing, constant or recurring basis over months, years, even a lifetime. It can involve almost any part of the body, most often affecting the hip, knee, spine or other weight-bearing joints, but also found in the fingers and other non-weight-bearing joints. Some forms of arthritis can also affect other parts of the body. Arthritis conditions are grouped into two broad categories: Osteoarthritis (OA) Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common type of arthritis, affecting more Canadians than all other forms of arthritis combined. Though once referred to as the “wear-and-tear” arthritis, the Osteoarthritis Research Society International (OARSI) recently re-defined this condition. It describes OA as the result of the body’s failed attempt to repair damaged joint tissues. While the joint damage can occur through deterioration associated with aging, it can also occur in response to an injury. OA leads to the breakdown of cartilage (the tough elastic material that covers and protects the ends of bones), and the resulting bone-on-bone contact can cause pain, stiffness, swelling and reduced range of movement in the affected joint(s). The joints most commonly affected by OA are the knees, hips and those in the hands and spine. There are many factors that are thought to contribute to developing OA, such as age, obesity, your sex, occupation, participation in certain sports, history of joint injury or surgery, and genetics. Inflammatory arthritis (IA) Inflammatory forms of arthritis are different from osteoarthritis, in that the source of joint damage is from inflammation rather a wearing away of your cartilage. Most forms of IA are also autoimmune diseases, where the immune system – the body’s defense system against infections and other invaders – mistakenly starts to attack the body’s own healthy tissues. Inflammation from these conditions can result in pain, stiffness, restricted mobility, fatigue and damage to joints and other tissues. If not identified and treated swiftly, these conditions tend to progress more quickly and aggressively than OA. IA includes every form of arthritis except osteoarthritis – even some things you may not have realized were arthritis at all, like lupus or gout. Other common examples include rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis and juvenile idiopathic arthritis, but there are many other types. Some forms of IA are considered systemic diseases, because they can affect the whole body. Typical treatment for those suffering with arthritis include medication to help provide pain relief and reduce inflammation. Surgery may also be recommended depending on the severity and location of the disease. The above information was sourced from the Arthritis Society Why Choose PEMF Therapy? Consider an alternative, natural and non-evasive approach to reducing pain and inflammation PEMF stands for Pulsed Electromagnetic Field PEMF therapy sends low frequency pulses of electromagnetic energy to stimulate biological, chemical reactions within your cells. It is these biological, electrical and chemical processes that permeate the cell’s membrane to regenerate and heal the body at the most foundational level – the cell. When cells are exposed to PEMF it allows for the increased intake of minerals, nutrients, and oxygen which supports the production of ATP (the body’s energy supply), increased ion transfer, cellular voltage and circulation. PEMF also facilitates the removal of toxins, CO2 and water, maximizing cellular performance. The secret of PEMF lies in the improvement of microcirculation. The increased blood flow minimizes the clumping of red blood cells and increases circulation by delivering oxygen to the smallest blood vessels of the body. Research has found that PEMF therapy is an effective tool to combat and reduce joint and muscle pain by reducing inflammation. The Omnium1 PEMF therapy mat delivers a specialized therapeutic waveform to target these very small blood vessels promoting improved blood flow and increased oxygen and nutrient supply to tissues, muscles and organs. Rent a PEMF system today to discover how daily usage of PEMF therapy can significantly reduce pain and inflammation for the arthritis sufferer. On March 14, 2021, my spouse and I were in a car accident. Both of us suffered what is called a traumatic brain injury (TBI). The most common causes of this trauma can be falls, bumps, blows, or something that enters the skull. Even though we did not hit our heads directly during the accident, the impact on our car and our bodies was strong enough to make our heads move very quickly forward (sudden acceleration) and very quickly backwards (sudden deceleration), causing a concussion and a whiplash. Here are the most common symptoms of a TBI:
We both experienced serious and frequent headaches immediately, but not vision problems, sensitivity to light, or loss of smell or taste. We also had problems concentrating and troubled sleep, but we were totally unprepared for the emotional aspects of having a concussion. Christiane’s story. For the next two months, I could not look down or bend my neck down for more than a few minutes without experiencing a headache. The nausea and dizziness were present only immediately after the accident. One hour after it happened, after talking with my insurance for 20 minutes, my brain suddenly got very tired. Words were not coming out anymore. For someone who makes a living with her words, that was an unsettling experience, the first in what was going to be a daily occurrence, for weeks on end. Before the accident, I could open my mouth and words would just flow out, expressing my thoughts with ease. Not anymore. As a translator, I was used to smoothly go back and forth between languages. Now I found that my vocabulary had shrunk dramatically in both languages and that the best I could come up with was some approximation of what I really meant. I would often remain stuck with a French or an English word, unable to find its counterpart. I got scared. I heard white noise all the time and rock music made me tense. I could concentrate only for short periods of time. At first, I worked at my job at a computer only two hours a day before mental fatigue would set in. I had trouble understanding my emails and became overwhelmed very quickly. I took things personally, had to write absolutely everything down, forgot procedures, became paranoid that my colleagues would not trust me anymore, and felt totally out of control. I had to ask for help and that was very, very difficult. I felt vulnerable and depressed. My physiotherapist helped me understand that one branch of my autonomous nervous system called the sympathetic nervous system (SNS), the one that is active in “fight or flight” situations, had become stuck in the “on” position. When that happens, it is difficult to relax, sleep, and keep one’s sense of humour. My sympathetic nervous system had gotten activated by the trauma and become hypersensitive to any form of stress or fatigue. That is why he expressly told me take breaks often and to not even approach my limit on any level (physical, mental or emotional). I took his advice to heart. But what was instrumental in helping me deal with the headaches, the problems with stamina, memory and concentration, feeling self-conscious, anxious, depressed and scared was my PEMF (pulsed electromagnetic field) mat from Swiss Bionics. You see, I was very fortunate because immediately after I hung up from speaking with the insurance company, I was able to lay on the mat we had purchased two months before. During those two months, I had explored different settings to help me feel energized for my day, relax when needed and sleep at night. After the accident, as soon as I laid down, I would feel safe, in what felt like a warm embrace and I would fall asleep. It was therefore very easy to take short naps every day and feel calm and refreshed. That was instrumental in my being able, over a period of two months, to gradually increase my working hours to a full day. PEMF was my nervous system’s “off” switch. Our PEMF system uses low frequencies that, as peer-reviewed studies have proven, help reduce irritation and inflammation in the brain, decrease anxiety and depression, regenerate nerves, improve circulation and oxygenation, as well as promote a deep and restorative sleep. All of those benefits accelerate healing at the cellular level, everywhere in the body. Thus every cell’s well-being and the body’s ability to heal itself are being realized without any negative side-effects. I felt safe when I was on the mat and that has helped me become more patient during my slow recovery. It has now been a bit over 5 months, and I am rarely at a loss for words, I can express myself with fluidity, I am a fast typist and thinker again, and I can focus, concentrate and remember much more easily. I do treasure the habits I have made to take breaks often and stimulate my parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest) by looking away from the screen, stretching my body or laying down to breathe deeply and meditate on my beloved Swiss Bionics iMRS or Omnium mat. While I don’t automatically fall asleep anymore, I am able to connect with my body at a deep level, and I am rewarded with a feeling of profound well-being every time. If you or a loved one is among the 10 million people who, every year, suffer a traumatic brain injury or concussion caused by a motor vehicle accident, sports, fall or blow to the head, you may be curious and consider renting a system from your local PEFM Global Rentals expert. You can experience the benefits of PEMF for yourself, several times a day in the comfort of your own home and bring your whole self into balance.
Unfortunately our joints take a beating throughout our life. Being so essential to all of our movements means being used, abused and depended on. Add in sports and leisure activities and they often don’t get the credit or attention that they require until things have gone wrong. Thankfully nature has accounted for this overuse to some degree by providing sheaths for our tendons and fluid in our joints to keep them lubricated like well oiled machines. But as with anything as life goes on, sheaths can wear down, inflammation can occur to pick up the slack and the balance of fluid can tip in either direction. Insert trauma, an injury, over flexion and a lifetime of use and you have pain, stiffness, aching, limitations and discomfort. PEMF Therapy is excellent for not only speeding up the healing of joint injuries but in maintaining healthy joints. Preventing injury or degeneration is always better than having to endure the healing process! I have a personal journey with joint health and PEMF… Let’s look at my MRI pictures…(These were taken in Ukraine so you’ll have to excuse the Ukrainian medical terms) This is often known as FROZEN SHOULDER… and if you google it you will read. “Treatment for frozen shoulder involves range-of-motion exercises and, sometimes, corticosteroids and numbing medications injected into the joint capsule. In a small percentage of cases, arthroscopic surgery may be indicated to loosen the joint capsule so that it can move more freely.” I suffered with this injury for a year and a half trying every conventional medical treatment, injection, pain medication and exercise available...I drew the line at surgery and searched for something that would get to the root of the problem….the inflammation. Something that would attack these sacs of fluid that was restricting my movement, stopping me from turning the steering wheel in my car, rolling over at night and reaching the glass in my kitchen cupboard. PEMF was the answer PEMF provides the low frequency that our cells are looking for and actively responding to. When our cells respond with energy production this energy is transferred into the rest of our body. Blood flow is increased and inflammation is reduced. With a reduction in inflammation, connective tissue is restored to its original size and fluid in the tendon sheath is reduced. This translates into decreased pain and increased range of motion. PEMF isn’t a pill, healing doesn’t happen overnight, it's cumulative… but encouraging a process that is natural to our body means that our body can heal itself without side effects. There is no better method of healing than allowing the body to get it done naturally. PEMF is a compliment to our natural energetic frequency, encouraging the body by providing a clean energy frequency that it can respond to and use for it’s recovery. Fast forward… 3 years later I am fully recovered (and have been for over a year). Pain free with a full range of motion and living my life without restriction, medical intervention or limitations on what my shoulder can or should do. This is my journey with joint health and PEMF but you can replace the word shoulder with knee, wrist, ankle, hip, etc...any joint in the body. “Moveable parts are breakable parts” and this simply means we need to maintain them and give our body the tools that nature intended when it comes to healing. With PEMF our movable parts can stay movable for life! |
